Bryan Warrington was a passionate sportsman and brass band player, committing himself to youth development in both areas throughout his life.

John Eric Gray (known as Eric) had a life-long passion for brass band music and for sharing his musical gift with others, by playing and teaching in his local community.

The NYBBGB was founded in 1952 by Dr Denis Wright. Dr Denis, as he was known, died in 1967 following a lifetime of great service to brass bands.
